All students at MBMS are automatically placed in English, math, science, social science, and physical education classes for the school year.
Math Placement in 6th grade math is based on benchmark assessments, diagnostic testing, and SBAC scores. If your student is placed in a Hyper-compacted math course (Math 6/7 or Math 7/8), students must maintain a B- or higher in each trimester to remain in the class during the school year.
World Language 7th grade students will automatically be moved into the next level of their language choice for 8th grade. With failing grades in 7th grade world language, students will not be able to continue to the next level of language in the following year. 6th grade students will have the option to choose a world language elective of Chinese, French or Spanish.
Zero Period Students taking a music elective may also choose to take a zero period to allow for two elective options in a eight-period day. Students must be enrolled in a yearlong music elective to be eligible to take zero period. Students optioning for a longer day will be gin school at 7:10 AM and end school at 3:00 PM. Zero period does not meet on late start Wednesdays and will begin school at 9:00 AM with the rest of the school.
Failure to maintain passing grades and/or attendance/tardy issues may result in removal from this class.
IEP plans supercedes all other programming. Schedules may change accordingly.
