Associated Student Body

The leadership class (Associated Student Body) is comprised of elected or appointed seventh and eighth grade students. This class meets daily (the student’s yearlong elective choice) with a teacher advisor. Leadership class members assist the administration and teachers in carrying out special projects and improving the school climate.

In addition to the leadership class, there is also a student council. The student council consists of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students elected by their sixth period classmates each trimester. Members of the student council attend meetings during lunch on alternate Tuesdays, inform their classmates about agenda items, and seek the suggestions and assistance of the student body in planning activities. Students elected to serve in student council and leadership are expected to attend weekend and after school activities as necessary.

Contact Mrs. Ro Schreiner, ASB Advisor, for any questions related to the ASB.

ASB Updates from Max Rosenberg, Corresponding Secretary:

December 2013

November has been a very successful month for MBMS Ambassadors Service Club. With the support of all of our students and staff, we collected ninety-four overly stuffed bags of non-perishable food for Project Needs, St. Paul's Methodist Church in Redondo Beach. In order to help out with the disaster in the Philippines, students formed a committee to support the people in need. Becker’s cookies were sold on Friday, the 15th, and the money was forwarded to Doctors Without Borders. We want to thank Becker’s for supporting us in this fundraiser. During November we were also busy collecting school supplies to help support a school in Nicaragua. Our President, Jack McMillan, and our Girl's Rep, Sadie McMillan, with their parents, took the supplies to the Nicaragua.
November 15th was College Day and many students wore clothes from their favorite college or one that they wish to attend. On November 22nd we had an ice skating party at the Toyota Arena. The first two weeks of December our school has planned to adopt seven families through the annual Richstone Adopt a Family Program. We are all looking forward to participating in this program, and we thank you for your support.
